Fernando Lohmann joined Weplace as a Senior Partner in July 2016, where he has since led our Infrastructure & Construction, Natural Resources, Energy and Oil & Gas practices with executive search, organizational consulting and cultural transformation projects in over 30 clients.
Prior to Weplace, Fernando worked for nearly 28 years in engineering, strategic, executive search & leadership consulting firms such as A.T. Kearney, Stone & Webster, Korn & Ferry, Heidrick & Struggles and Fesa, where he led multiple high-profile projects in human capital management and executive search in the Infrastructure, Energy, Oil and Gas and Agribusiness sectors.
For over two decades, before starting his career as a consultant, Fernando led high profile initiatives as a member of executive teams across the infrastructure and oil & gas sectors. Hailing originally from the Brazilian Navy’s Engineer Officer Corps, Fernando went on to lead urban mobility, industrial and oil & gas projects with the Siemens Group, in both Brazil and Germany. He subsequently spent the 1980s in Petrobras’ international arm, originating and leading large scale engineering project execution in more than 20 countries, which ultimately led to his taking over as Managing Director of Petrobras’ operations in Asia, headquartered in Singapore.
Upon his return to Brazil, in a pro-bono capacity, he was invited by the Government of Singapore to work as Singapore’s Honorary Consul General for Singapore in Brazil, a position he held from 1994 through 2002.
Fernando has an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from the Catholic University of Petropolis and a postgraduate degree in Nuclear Engineering obtained during his tenure at the Brazilian Navy while working on the Brazilian nuclear power generation program. Fernando is a native Portuguese and German speaker and is fluent in English and Spanish.
